The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas is a three-row seven-seat SUV based on MQB platform. This platform features the transverse-mounted engine, front-wheel or all-wheel drive systems. The Atlas sports familiar clean design for the exterior and well-known interior for those who been inside for those who have been inside the latest VW models such as a Passat.
All Atlases feature infotainment system with support for an Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and MirrorLink technologies. The traditional gauges were replaced by a customisable digital screen, called Digital Cockpit. The Fender audio system with 12 loudspeakers is responsible for sound output. The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas is also available with a rich choice of driver assistance and safety features, including forward-collision warning, rear traffic alert, automated emergency and post-collision braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control systems.
For the U.S. market, it available with a 280 hp 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 238 hp 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged unit, both could be paired only with an eight-speed automatic transmission. For China and other markets, the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas could receive new 2.5-litre turbocharged V6 with 300 hp output and several other versions of 2.0-litre unit.
