The Mazda CX-5 is a compact crossover unveiled at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show and produced by Japan manufacturer since 2012. It replaced both the Tribute and the CX-7 models. The Mazda CX-5 was the first car of this brand featuring the new Soul of Motion Design language, often called KODO. The design of this crossover was previewed on the Mazda MINAGI concept car, introduced in March 2011. It was the first car in Mazda model range featuring a full set of the Skyactiv Technologies. The current generation of CX-5 shares its platform with other models, including compact sedan and hatchback Mazda3, and large family car Mazda6. It is available with petrol and diesel engines.
