The Kia Rio is a subcompact car introduced by the South Korean company in 2000. It replaced the first-gen Kia Pride and Avella models, first of which was a rebadged Ford Festiva and last marketed as a Ford in some countries. In China, the Kia selling it under Kia K2 nameplate, on the domestic market as a Kia Pride. Now the Rio in its fourth generation, available as a 4-door sedan and as a hatchback with a 3 or 4 doors. It could be powered by a 4-cylinder petrol or turbodiesel engines, mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic gearboxes. The Kia Rio available only with a front-wheel drive and there is no crossover versions. It has unique styling for several markets, such as China or Russia, different from the US or European versions.
