Dacia is a Romanian vehicle manufacturer founded in 1966 and acquired by Renault in 1999. It has on of the biggest car manufacturing facility in Europe. The first car of this brand was licensed Renault 8, so both companies have long-standing ties.
Vehicles with the Dacia nameplates are sold in most of the European countries, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco. These cars have also been produced by Renault and Nissan under french or local brands in other countries, such as Colombia, India, Iran, Russia and South Africa. Russian car manufacturer Lada licensed Dacia Logan estate for it Largus model.
