Audi A5 for 2017 model year debuted at a special event in Ingolstadt, Germany on the last day of June 2016. It was presented with the updated coupe, which got minor changes for exterior, and the same powertrain and interior as the 2017 sedan Audi A4 received last year. Like the sedan, new A5 will be lighter than the previous generation: up to 60 kg (132.3 lbs). With the longer wheelbase and the wider tracks, there is also more space in the cabin. The new coupe has common dashboard’s design with the A4: continuous air-vent strip, ambient lighting, slick Virtual Cockpit gauge cluster as an option. There is familiar rotary pushbutton with an integrated touchpad for controlling an infotainment system, which use an 8.3-inch display, too.
The engine range for Audi A5 2017 consists of three diesel and two petrol motors. Base models will be powered by 2.0-litre petrol and diesel units with 187hp output, followed by a 248hp variant of the same 2.0-litre petrol engine, and a 3.0-litre V6 TDI unit in two versions: with either 215hp or 268hp. The new model also got latest active safety technologies from Audi`s engineers, such as the Audi Pre-Sense system or the adaptive cruise control Stop&Go with various functions to assist the driver in the traffic jam, the turns, crossing traffic or avoiding collisions.
